Exercise Therapy

Exercise, with its diversifying benefits in upgrading a person's physical fitness and health, is widely used as a therapy to improve patient's flexibility, strength and cardiovascular endurance during the course of rehabilitation.

Different types of exercise:

  1. Stretching Exercise

    The goal of stretching is to restore the normal range of motion of joints and extensibility of soft tissues surrounding a joint. Stretching are free active exercises in general.

  2. Resistance Exercise

    The goal of resistance training is to increase muscle strength and endurance. Strengthening include free exercises against gravity or manual resistance by therapist, and aided exercises using rubber bands and weights.

  3. Aerobic Exercise

    The goal of aerobic training is to improve the efficiency of the cardiovascular system and active muscles, such that the abilities to work for prolonged periods of times and resist fatigue can be increased. Aerobic workouts are submaximal, rhythmic, repetitive dynamic exercises of large muscle groups, such as walking, running, cycling, and swimming, and gym works with treadmill, rowing machine, bike, stepper and cross trainer.
